Guitar Lessons
Frequently Asked Questions

Our private guitar lessons include acoustic, electric and bass guitar.  We teach guitar lessons in everything from rock to jazz, classical to pop, Spanish
to chording.  Guitar lessons at our schools are enhanced by the opportunity of learning how to jam with other musicians in a rock band setting or how to
perform solo in one of our recitals.  Typically a student would be 8 before starting guitar lessons, due to their hand size, but some younger students
start with a junior sized guitar.

Where can I take lessons?
Lesson are offered at North Ballet Academy in Rogers. We have a separate music wing of private studios where students can take piano, guitar and
voice lessons. You may schedule siblings simultaneously with 2 different teachers or have lessons back-to-back with ballet, art, or theatre classes, to cut
down driving time to various activities!

What are your instrument requirements?
You must have a guitar. It must be in good working condition. The strings must be easy for the student to press down. Students may begin with either
acoustic or electric, but acoustic is preferred for proper technique. It is easy to transition to an electric guitar, but harder to go from electric to acoustic.
Also, the acoustic is a joy to bring wherever you go, without worrying about having to "plug in."
If you need to purchase an instrument,
Guitar Center in Maple Grove can help you choose a guitar that is right for you. You can plan on spending
about $200 on a quality instrument that will give the student a positive experience in lessons.
