What We Believe
- We believe in our students!
We set high standards because we know the students can reach them. With words of encouragement and the correct tools, we
help each student accomplish their goals.
- We believe that music is worth studying.
Hours of practice and consistent discipline are necessary in acquiring a skill. We believe the gift of music is worth the dedication
and time each student will put forth in their years of study.
- We believe a firm foundation of music is essential to succeeding in the music world.
We incorporate theory, ear training, technique, discipline, encouragement and performance opportunities into our curriculum and
teaching style early in the life of each student to build a firm foundation for the future.
- We believe in training our students for a future in music.
The foundation we build is with the intention of carrying this knowledge into any other field of music or other instrument. We do
not focus purely on teaching a single instrument, but rather on using the instrument as a tool to teaching music as a whole.

Who We Are
Jennifer Hickle, owner and administrator, has a contagious passion for music and for passing it on to her students. After teaching
for a few years and graduating with a degree in music, Jennifer realized how great the lack was for truly quality, passionate
teachers, and especially for beginning students. To multiply her efforts, she began teaching teachers to teach. She contracted
her first teacher in 1999 and has hired and educated over 18 teachers in the last 10 years. She firmly believes that teachers
should not only be talented, but fabulous with children, self-motivated, fun, and themselves teachable. Signature is ever growing
and changing to meet the needs of students and the community. Jennifer runs Signature out of her home, as she enjoys raising
her own four kids. Her husband, Chris, helps with the finances and billing. Jennifer's favorite part of her job is still the thrill of
passing on a new, piece-altering technique to her students, watching a lightbulb moment occur in a lesson, and seeing students
shine at performance opportunities.
